چکیده
To develop a new high-protein woody forage resource for livestock to alleviate feed shortages in the tropics, we applied PacBio single-molecule, real-time (SMRT) sequencing explore community structure, species diversity and metabolic gene clusters of natural microorganisms associated with paper mulberry (PM) silage fermentation. High levels microbial abundance were observed PM raw material, these decreased progression During ensiling, dominant bacteria shifted from pathogenic Gram-negative Proteobacteria beneficial Gram-positive Firmicutes. Lactic acid became most that affected fermentation quality terminal silages. Global overview maps, carbohydrate metabolism amino-acid important pathways impacted final product silage. SMRT revealed specific microbial-related information concerning is rich nutrients macro mineral contents, which are preserved well during indicating can serve as suitable ruminants.

Dynamic variation of the microbial community structure during the long-time mono-fermentation of maize and sugar beet silage
This study investigated the development of the microbial community during a long-term (337 days) anaerobic digestion of maize and sugar beet silage, two feedstocks that significantly differ in their chemical composition. For the characterization of the microbial dynamics, the community profiling method terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (TRFLP) in combination with a cloning-seque...
متن کاملMetabolic and microbial community dynamics during the hydrolytic and acidogenic fermentation in a leach-bed process
Background: Biogas production from lignocellulosic feedstock not competing with food production can contribute to a sustainable bioenergy system. The hydrolysis is the rate-limiting step in the anaerobic digestion of solid substrates such as straw. Hence, a detailed understanding of the metabolic processes during the steps of hydrolysis and acidogenesis is required to improve process control st...
متن کاملSilage Fermentation End Products and Microbial Populations: Their Relationships to Silage Quality and Animal Productivity
Understanding the roles that various microbes play in silage fermentation and the factors that affect their growth can help us understand why silages ferment in various ways. In many, but not all cases, the fermentation that a crop undergoes can be explained by how microbes interact with factors such as moisture content, buffering capacity, and sugar content. However, management factors such as...
متن کاملHigh-Throughput Sequencing of Microbial Community Diversity and Dynamics during Douchi Fermentation
Douchi is a type of Chinese traditional fermented food that is an important source of protein and is used in flavouring ingredients. The end product is affected by the microbial community present during fermentation, but exactly how microbes influence the fermentation process remains poorly understood. We used an Illumina MiSeq approach to investigate bacterial and fungal community diversity du...
متن کاملHigh Levels of Monensin to Mid Lactating Dairy Cows: Nutrient Digestibility, Ruminal Fermentation and Microbial Protein Synthesis
The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutrient digestibility, ruminal fermentation and microbial protein synthesis of mid-lactating cows fed high dietary levels of monensin. Twelve Holstein cows were distributed into four 3 × 3 latin squares and assigned to the following treatments: control (CON), monensin 24 (M24, addition of 24 mg monensin/kg diet DM) and monensin 48 (M48, addition of 48 ...
